Fun and Games
The Health Careers
Center breaks down important health care information
for younger students to understand by using fun and
games as a part of their learning process. Children
enjoy incorporating interaction into almost everything
they observe. Click here
and let your students explore the many games, coloring
pages, and puzzles our website has to offer in hopes
that they may learn important facts about health care
along the way.
Howie the Health Care Hound
Howie is very
popular among young students throughout the state of
Mississippi. We enjoy bringing him into the community
giving him a chance to visit with classes and attend
career fairs. Howie is always anxious to go new places
and would love to come visit your classroom. If
your school or organization would like to meet Howie,
please contact Melissa Brewer at 601-368-3235. HCC
also has printable images of Howie for classroom
activities and if the kids would like, they can even send Howie an email at
howie@mshealthcareers.com. To view pictures
of Howie the Healthcare Hound, please click

The Health Careers Activity Book
The Health

The MHA Health Careers Center
'Nursing Exploration' Scout Patch Program of Mississippi
The Nursing Exploration patch program is based on a similar Girl Scout
patch program in North Carolina and brought to Mississippi by the HCC as a
way to increase youth's knowledge of the variety of career opportunities
available in nursing and to increase their awareness of the growing need
for nurses. This is a great way to educate students of the many career
opportunities in healthcare. To learn more about the purpose and criteria
of the program, please click here.
