Nissan College Scholarships Available
Mississippi high school seniors looking
for funds to help them attend college can apply through March 1 for MEC
member Nissan North America Inc. scholarships.
Seniors, graduating this spring with a
minimum ACT national testing score of 20, are eligible to apply for aid to
attend any of the state's public community colleges or universities. A
minimum SAT I score of 940 can be substituted for the ACT. (Residual ACT
scores are not accepted.)
Eligible students must also have
achieved a minimum cumulative 2.5 high school grade point average on a 4.0
scale, after completion of at least seven semesters. Those chosen to
receive Nissan Scholarships can reapply annually if maintaining a 2.5 GPA
and Mississippi residency.
The scholarships cover tuition and
required fees and include a book allowance. Length of the award varies
depending on the certificate or degree students pursue.

Blacks in
Government (BIG) Magnolia Chapter
The Magnolia
Chapter of Blacks In Government (BIG) will be awarding a scholarship to a
desiring graduating high school senior. The scholarship can be utilized at
any accredited college or university in the United States.

Applicant must
be a legal resident of the State of Mississippi

Application
must be enrolled in a high school in the State of Mississippi

Portion of
application must be completed, signed and date by high school counselor.

One page essay
entitled What A College Education Means To Me must be accompanied with
the completed application. Essay can be hand-written, typed or printed.
The application
can be duplicated for as many applicants as wish to apply from schools
within your respective school districts.
