Who, oh who could the new 12 be?

The year 2005 was coming up just around the corner and with that being said, time had come to find the new Men in Nursing for 2005. The MHA Health Careers Center went on a new search and with long hours of difficult decisions ... the 12 were chosen. This year a grand total of 64 applicants participated! Our purpose was to produce a 2005 calendar featuring Mississippi men in nursing in a diversified manner. The applicants ranged from seasoned veterans to students in nursing school.

The 12 men nurse/student role models featured in this calendar represent an array of nursing positions. Nursing today offers direct patient care and clinical care positions (in areas such as medical/surgical care, operating room, intensive care, and emergency department) as well other positions (such as quality improvement, infection control, patient education, and information technology) and management/administrative positions in both clinical and non-clinical areas.

All of the 64 applicants that applied could have been great representatives of the Mississippi's men in nursing. Nevertheless, the 12 gentlemen that were selected to appear in this 2005 calendar do so because of their well-founded confidence in their work and their commitment to their profession.

We can only hope that by showcasing just a handful of Mississippi's very own men in nursing that others will see the rewarding opportunities their are to receive and choose to pursue a career in health care.

 

Calendars are ready for distribution and we have a special discount for member hospitals ordering a quantity of 20 or more! They will be sold for $6.00 a calendar, 50% off the regular price, (with or without tax determined by tax exemption) plus shipping. Proceeds from the sale of this calendar are used to fund health career scholarships throughout the state of Mississippi.
