Mississippi's premier online resource for college planning is now new and improved. What once was known as Mississippi Wiredscholar has been officially renamed as Mississippi College Answer. This resource is presented by USA Funds on the web at http://www.mississippi.collegeanswer.com/.

USA Funds stated that the new name does a better job of reflecting the website's comprehensive content that guides students as well as parents through the the process of preparing for college. It helps direct them in choosing and applying to college along with giving insight on college expenses and payments. Mississippi College Answer also has a new design with better organization and navigation to make it more user friendly for students, prospective students, and their parents in finding the information that is most important to them. Such features include:

-Information for Mississippi residents about career planning, higher education programs and financial-aid opportunities.

-A free scholarship search that offers students access to a database of more than 2.4 million scholarships totaling more than $14 billion.

-Step-by-step tutorials on the entire college-planning process, including how to apply for college, prepare for college and repay student loans.

-Helpful college-planning tools, including a school-comparison tool, school-affordability analyzer and a variety of interactive calculators and checklists.

-A free monthly college-planning newsletter delivered through e-mail to visitors who register on the site.
