About the MHA Health Careers
Center.
The MHA Health Careers Center was created
by the Mississippi Hospital Association in response to the shortages in
nursing and allied health careers. These shortages are threatening the
delivery of timely and quality healthcare in Mississippi and must be
addressed. The Center will provide resources for individuals interested in
health careers.
The MHA Health Careers Center will work
with healthcare employers to implement strategies to ensure they become
the employers of choice in their communities. Some of these practices will
include developing career paths for allied health care positions, creating
career flexibility within the organization, providing continuous growth
opportunities for employees, and ensuring that benefits and salaries are
competitive in the labor force.
In response to the many obstacles that are
present in today's healthcare environment, the MHA Health Careers Center
will provide leadership training opportunities to top level and middle
level management. The Center will also prepare them for the challenges of
the future. Healthcare leaders will have an opportunity to participate in
education opportunities that include organizational structure assessments,
utilization of human resource management systems, advocacy issues,
reimbursement issues and privacy mandates.
